It MIGHT work well enough for you to get your data off. I don't think 1.2 compiles against 9.2 Slony 2.1.x should work with Postgresql 8.4 and 9.2, I would recommend upgrading slony first. If you had to upgrade from a version of postgresql prior to 8.3 (ie 8.2 or 8.1) then you can do the upgrade in stages.
