Good morning,

I had the same issued, about the enconding.
My replication is made by 2 PCs using Fedora, and slony 1.2.14.
And I started the DB with encoding UTF-8, but at the start of the Slon I had
the same error discussed here.
So, i had to change de i18n file of fedora to use ISO8859-1, recreated the
db and now my base is sync... :)
