Well, clearly you have mixed together some 1.2.1 components with parts
of a 1.2.10 build, which manifestly won't work, as is clearly shown in
the transcript above.

I expect that you should remove the Debian package for Slony, or build
a replacement package based on 1.2.10 (or, better still, 1.2.12, as it
is newer, and fixes a number of problems found in 1.2.10).
