But thanks for the patch. The patch winds up applying a bit differently than suggested; the fact that 7.3 is no longer supported actually makes it pretty important. The change is that the patch has to go against some m4 files, not against configure... Anyhoo, that's in now. My one disappointment is that the check takes place pretty late, after a lot of other tests get run to check for all sorts of C library functions. I'd sorta think that verifying that the PG version is suitable would be amongst the first checks run. (Of course, it's only on AIX, where configure runs for some ghastly long period of time, where it particularly matters...) My entertainment of the day was when one of those at the Ohio LinuxFest said "thanks" for Slony-I, and characterized it as being, more or less, simple and obvious. Which differs somewhat from a lot of the questions that come up on the list :-). I suppose that those that find Slony-I obvious don't need to ask too many questions!
