I'm planning to get another beta release out on Friday.

The one thing that seems conspicuously outstanding is the handling of
the altperl tools in RPM packaging.

Devrim Gunduz has been working on this, and it appears that it is very
close to working. If we can get to the point of it actually working,
which I think just involves choosing a place for the Perl scripts to go,
then that is a clear level of readiness for this.

There have been quite a lot of both consequential and "little bits of
engineering" changes this week, notably:

1. Fixing a fairly serious concurrency problem with the MOVE_SET and
ACCEPT_SET events;

2. Getting SGML documentation to the point of building on various
platforms;

3. RPM and Debian packaging is working or very nearly so.

I'll call it Beta #3; it may be worth thinking about it as Release
Candidate 1, at least in the back of peoples' minds...
