<snip> > Yes, it does mean that it won't run. The check would improve the error > reporting. But that's about it. Currently the attempt to load the xxid > script fails on 7.3.2 and lower, rolling back the "init cluster" or > "store node" command. Ok. We should probably put a check in, as it's nicer to tell people up front that their version of PG is too old rather than them having to search mailing lists and stuff to figure out why. We should probably adjust the error messages in configure and acx_libpq.m4 to indicate this, as well as the statement in the README that says "Slony currently supports PostgreSQL 7.3.x, 7.4.x, and 8.x.". Hmmm... is it ok to give me commit privs to the Slony CVS? I'm good at tidying up small things like documentation tweaks and stuff. Regards and best wishes, Justin Clift > > Jan
