This has apparently never been observed again. At Afilias, we have been running
1.2 now for many years and never had anything like it.

It seems to me that both, the initially missing replication information, and
then the failing SYNC that magically turns into an empty one (0 rows inserted
etc.) can be explained by something like a corrupted index, hiding the rows.

I am closing this bug.
