Does the material in bug #73 provide us with something closer to a
self-contained test to validate the presence (or "fixedness" :-)) of this bug?

I haven't had time to review #73 properly; if we can distill a simple test out
of it that consistently breaks Slony-I, and which is resolved by the patch
we've got here, that would be *perfect.*  I'm pretty well convinced that the
patch will resolve the issue; I'd just like to demonstrate the validation, if
at all possible.
